I know I've barely used my sewing machine in the last few months, but that doesn't mean I don't have big plans for it. My list is starting to run a bit long, so I thought I'd list it here (rather than my head) and see if that mobilises me into action!

1. Cushion Cover to match my sister's quilt - for December

2. Midwest Modern Quilt finished - January

3. Place Mats for children x6 - November - I don't have a design yet, but probably something simple, so they can be put in the wash on a daily basis!

4. Denise Schmidt Quilt "Snake Charmer" for eldest son - March or sooner!


5. Castle Peeps Quilt for youngest son - December

There are probably a few more things, that will be added onto this list. I have a friend who is expecting a baby, due on Xmas Day, so they may well get a lovely baby quilt for their newborn.

I need to get some more fabric for the Denise Schmidt quilt, I've been stock piling slowly! With the cushion cover and place mats I'll use fabric from my stash, and I guiltily suspect I already have enough fabric for a baby quilt!

Plus I'm hoping I will get my sewing table very soon as well!

School's Out!

Well school finished on Wednesday, so I don't know how much making, doing and blogging I will be able to do.

I have a few mammouth projects I want to do. Not sure I will get all of them done!

And then I saw another project I like, the ripple blanket which involves crochet (I don't know how you do that) but I think that will definitely be put on hold as I've got too many balls in the air already!

On the upside, my eldest read the whole of book 2b - all 50 pages last night. We're very proud of him, hopefully we'll get through the sets through the holidays.

This is the life of my parcel, so far!! ( I love these parcel tracking facilities on courier's websites - although I have been known to be frustrated, when it says, it is out for delivery, and does not arrive that day!!)

Happy Easter!

I made these easy-peasey-lemon-squeezy chocolate nests with Cadbury's mini eggs in them.

All you need is Shreaded Wheat or Mini Shreaded Wheat and crush it, a bar of Milk Chocolate, melted. Mix the shreaded wheat into the melted chocolate, until desired texture. Put in fairy cake cases, pop 2 or 3 mini eggs on top and put in fridge. Feel successful!

I've also started to make the Pleated Beauty Bag from Bend the Rules Sewing. Will show you the results later!

Easter Countdown

I haven't done much lately, but I have big plans for the 3-4 days that I should have alone over Easter.

Firstly I have some repairs.

1. Some of my earliest doorstops have not stood the test of time, due to far too much flinging around by my children. So I'm repairing 2 or 3 of them, going to add in a zip, and resew over the seams a few times to make them stronger, plus wash them!

2. A jumper that has split on a seam, resew that.

3. Repair pocket in husband's jeans.

To make:

1. Some tote bags. I want to eradicate all plastic bags from my life!

2. Amy Karol Pleated Tote bag (forgotten what it's called) Completed on 21/3/08!

3. Maybe a Betz White felted project.

4. Tidy up and sort out my office area

5. Sort out photos!!!

I'll have to see just how far along I get, but will certainly post piccies of any sewing I get done!

I cannot wait, I just hope my sewing machine doesn't bail on me!

Pirate Jumper

Ages ago, I started a jumper. Then I put my knitting down, had Xmas, New Year and suddenly it's the end of February!

So I picked up my needles and got going. I did have a probelem understanding the pattern, in shaping the neckline, but one call to my husband's grandma sorted that out! So here is the back piece of the jumper! The front is where it'll really get interesting!

Unfinished Projects

I don't know if you are like me, but I'm quite guilty of starting projects and then not quite finishing them. This is for a variety of reasons:

1. Move house, everything goes into a box, and I don't see box for another 2 years!

2. Need to buy something to finish project off and never get round to it.

3. (This mainly applies to knitting) The sun comes out.

4. Think up a brand new project and want to crack on with that instead!

Anyway, my terrible secret is out and now I must start to make amends (a bit of a mid year resolution if you like). So here are some photos of not quite finished cushions that I did my first attempt at embroidery/ applique on (I think my husband put me off as he doesn't like 'girly things'). We were living in Scotland at the time, and I was inspired by local artists and what they were doing.

The material isn't coming out too great, but never mind!
